Jeremy Belpois is a student at Kadic Academy - one of the best, who has accidentally stumbled on an abandoned computer lab in an old Renault factory on the river. Monday, September 3rd, 2012. Audio journal of Jeremy Belpois, entry four-one-four. Around this time yesterday, I had sneaked out of the dorms to fish for scrap electronics in the old Renault factory on the river. It seemed simple enough, I mean, the place hadnt been in use for over twenty years. The main warehouse seemed to be empty, which wasnt a great surprise, so I investigated further into the complex, and found a strange service elevator, going down into a basement. My curiosity got the better of me, and I found myself taking the lift down a few floors to the first basement level. Naturally, I tried to turn on the computer, but it remained silent and lifeless, so I decided to head down another floor in the elevator. The next room was about the same size and circular, and contained what looked giant tubes, with lots of wiring emerging from the tops. They looked big enough for full-grown man to fit inside, but there was nothing else of interest here, so I continued down to the final basement floor. ![]() It seemed to be some sort of mainframe computer, perhaps connected to the machine upstairs, in what I have named the Lab. I made my way back into the Lab, and found the computer system had already switched on, confirming the idea that the machine downstairs was in fact the CPU for this system. When I sat down in the chair, and pressed a few keys, a window popped up, showing what I thought was an artificial intelligence program - an animated avatar of a pretty girl with pink hair. She seemed to be able to hear me, and see me too, making me look around for recording equipment - Id be in real trouble if Id been caught. She seemed to have no memory of her name, and when asked of her function, she could only recall that she was the guardian of the key, but had no idea what or where the key was, just the instructions that XANA must never find the key to Lyoko. I guessed that Lyoko was the virtual environment she. It seemed clear to me that the program was defective - that the artificial intelligences coding and the systems memory had been corrupted by the shutdown, though I still must give her. I decided I should head back to the dorms. Such confusion and sadness. She looked lost. Anyway, I left the computer running, and asked her. If it was an AI assistant for the system, then it should have no problem finding out more about the system it is bound to. It is inoperable without the controller, and that was intact and untouched. Thankfully, I managed to stop it by crushing the body with a chair, before it could electrocute me. ![]() After I stopped the robot, the symbol disappeared, and now I believe that something inside that weird factory has a vendetta against me. I must go back tomorrow, and shut it down, before it attacks me again.
